Blood sugar (sugar level) test
Finger-prick glucose check, fasting or random.
A finger-prick check of your blood glucose. Useful if you are living with diabetes and monitoring control, if diabetes runs in your family, or if you have symptoms such as constant thirst, frequent urination, unusual tiredness or slow-healing wounds. We will explain what your number means and tell you plainly if you should see a doctor.
Before you come
For a fasting reading, do not eat for at least eight hours beforehand. First thing in the morning is easiest. A random reading can be done any time.
