Over the counter
Salts dissolved in clean water to replace what the body loses in diarrhoea and vomiting. For a child with diarrhoea this matters more than any other medicine.
What it is used for
Preventing and treating dehydration from diarrhoea or vomiting.
Before you take it
Mix with the exact amount of clean water stated on the sachet. Stronger is not better and can be dangerous. Take a child to hospital if they are drowsy, sunken-eyed, not passing urine or unable to keep fluids down.
